Coral transplantation is being the done in the Japanese underwaters to save the reefs from dying. The reefs are endangered by various activities like overfishing, pollution and global warming. As a part of the coral transplantation, ceramic discs are put into a healthy stretch of reef, for the coral larvae to attach to and grown on.
