Being "green" is certifiably becoming mainstream. No longer the domain of woodsy environmentalists and disciplined vegetarians, the green movement is sweeping into the everyday lives of people.

Cosmic Log: A green machine that promises to turn sun and seawater into food, fuel, and drinking water will be tried out in the desert near the Red Sea in Jordan. It’s the sort of thing environmentalists might dream about.

In the last few months, we’ve featured local environmentalists doing heroic green work in Los Angeles in our Everyday Heroes series. Now, as we’re nearing the end of 2010, we caught up with these environmentalists again to see what green goals they’ve set for themselves for the new year.
